Behaviour Support Team Leader | Triage Manager

This is a senior Behaviour Support role with influence. As our Triage Manager | Behaviour Support Team Leader, you’ll sit at the front end of our allied health service — completing Initial Consults, applying clinical judgement, and making informed triage decisions that shape participant outcomes across the business.

You’ll act as a trusted clinical voice, working closely with operations and leadership to assess participant needs, vulnerability, and urgency, ensuring the right practitioner is matched to the right participant at the right time. Over time, the role will grow to include building and leading a team of Behaviour Support Practitioners.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner ready to step into a senior, strategic role while remaining clinically connected.

What you’ll be doing

  • Initial Consults with NDIS participants requiring our services (typically 2–3 per day)
  • Apply advanced PBS knowledge to assess risk, complexity, vulnerability, and urgency
  • Triage and allocate participants to the most appropriate practitioner or clinician
  • Work closely with Operations to ensure NDIS plans are in place prior to allocation
  • Provide clinical leadership and contribute to consistent, participant-centred intake processes
  • Progressively build, mentor and lead a team of Behaviour Support Practitioners
  • Deliver supervision, case consultation, and capability development aligned to PBS frameworks
  • Contribute to projects that support service quality, growth, and sustainability

About you
You’re confident operating in a senior role and bring a highly empathetic communication style that builds trust and rapport quickly. You’re able to engage effectively with participants and stakeholders from a wide range of backgrounds, adapting your approach with ease. You balance autonomy with accountability and bring a practical, grounded leadership style.

You’ll bring:

  • Registration as a Behaviour Support Practitioner (Proficient or higher)
  • Eligibility to bill Improved Daily Living (AHPRA or AASW registration)
  • Strong PBS clinical capability with sound risk judgement
  • Excellent communication across clinical, operational, and leadership contexts
  • Previous team leader experience in a relevant role
