Psychology Services

At Transform Life, our psychologists support children, young people, and adults to better understand their needs and build skills for everyday life.

Our team of AHPRA-registered psychologists have experience in supporting individuals with a wide range of developmental, behavioural, and mental health needs. We take a practical and supportive approach, working with each person to understand their strengths, challenges, and goals.

As part of Transform Life’s multidisciplinary allied health team, our psychologists can work alongside other professionals when needed to ensure clients receive coordinated and well-rounded support.

Appointments are available via telehealth across Australia, with face-to-face services available in selected locations.

Services are available for NDIS participants, private clients, and clients with a GP Mental Health Care Plan (Medicare referral) depending on the support required.

Our psychology services include:

Psychological therapy provides practical support to help people build skills that improve wellbeing and everyday life.

Support may include:

  • Emotional regulation
  • Anxiety and stress management
  • Behavioural strategies
  • Social skills development
  • Confidence and independence
  • Parent or caregiver support

Therapy can help people better understand their emotions, strengthen relationships, build independence, and feel more confident participating at school, work, and in the community.

For NDIS participants, therapy focuses on developing practical skills and strategies that support independence and participation in everyday life.

Functional assessments help understand how a person’s abilities impact their everyday life.

Assessments may explore:

  • Emotional regulation
  • Behaviour and coping
  • Social interaction
  • Independence and daily living skills
  • Participation at school, work, or in the community

A functional assessment can help identify strengths and support needs, guide therapy planning, and provide recommendations that support NDIS planning or plan reviews.

The focus is on understanding how a person functions in daily life, rather than providing a diagnosis.

Our psychologists also provide diagnostic assessments for individuals seeking clinical clarification of conditions such as:

  • Autism
  • ADHD
  • Cognitive or learning difficulties
  • Developmental concerns

Assessments involve structured assessment tools, clinical interviews, and a detailed report outlining findings and  recommendations.

Diagnostic assessments can help provide a clearer understanding of a person’s strengths and challenges, guide appropriate supports and can help with NDIS applications.

Diagnostic assessments are privately funded services and cannot be claimed through NDIS funding. Medicare rebates are generally not available for these assessments.

The benefits of telehealth

Telehealth allows clients to access psychology services from the comfort of their home.

It provides access to services from anywhere in Australia, reduces travel time and travel costs, and offers flexible appointment options. Telehealth can also improve access to psychology services for people living in rural or remote areas.

Appointments are delivered securely using video conferencing and are suitable for many therapy and assessment services.

How our assessments can help you

Our psychological assessments are designed to provide personalised insights and support. They can help identify potential diagnoses, develop targeted intervention strategies, and gather evidence to support referrals and applications to services, including the NDIS. Each assessment is tailored to your unique needs and circumstances.
